Returning service to the Glendale community has always been one of Richard's goals. During his family’s time in Glendale, he has dedicated his efforts to several community organizations:
- Served as the Cub Scout den leader and Cub Master for Good Hope School for 8 years.
- Youth baseball coach and assistant coach with North Shore Little League for 7 years.
- Kickers Soccer coach and assistant coach for 6 years.
- Served on the Nicolet Board of Advisors to Nicolet Counselor’s (BANC) for 4 years.
- Elected as the 4th District Alderman for 15 years, where he was selected by the Common Council to be Council President 4 times.
- Chaired the Water Utility Board for 6 years and the Architectural Review Board for 11 years.
- Redeveloped all Board policies for citizen project submittals, now combined with Glendale’s Plan Commission.
- Initiated and investigated the creation of a permanent City stage to replace the original portable stage.
- Played a key role in the development of Glendale’s Richard E Maslowski (REM) Community Park, serving as a member of the design team.
- Handled all REM Community Park fundraising, raising over $2,000,000.00 from Glendale businesses to offset most of the City of Glendale’s development and construction costs.
- Collaborated with the Wisconsin DOT on the redevelopment design of the Good Hope Rd/Green Bay Rd intersection to enhance pedestrian crossing safety, particularly for our Orthodox Jewish neighbors.
- Worked with the Wisconsin DOT to improve pedestrian crossing safety at the Pierron Rd and Good Hope Rd intersection.
- Partnered with Wisconsin DOT on the installation of traffic signals at the corner of Green Bay Rd and Range Line Rd, enhancing safety at no expense to the City of Glendale.
